Each year, there are two dozen exhibitions featuring the work of regional artists at Galveston Arts Center, which is a short walk from The Tremont House, a Wyndham Grand Hotel. Everything from paintings and drawings to sculpture and works on paper are on display. During opening nights of the exhibitions, you can hear the artists talk about their creations. Art education classes and a retail gallery round out Galveston's only visual arts organization with a permanent location.

Can I buy art at Galveston Arts Center?
You sure can. Simply stop by ArtWorks, the retail gallery. Inside you'll find an array of handcrafted ceramics and jewelery as well as objects constructed from metal and wood. Artists from all over Texas are represented and proceeds from sales go to support them and the Arts Center.
What is ArtWalk?
Though it sounds like a street festival, it's actually not. Sponsored by Galveston Arts Center, ArtWalk, which takes place every six to eight weeks on Saturday nights in the Strand Historic District, presents the work of visual artists in non-traditional settings, such as retail stores and restaurants.
